Stunningly accurate oak effect laminate joinery at Alburn Residence
Alburn Residence, a charming double-fronted Victorian home in the heritage-listed precinct of Hawthorn East, was beautifully reimagined by the award-winning Melbourne architectural firm, Chan Architecture. The redesign introduced expansive kitchen, dining, and living areas that flow effortlessly into the rear garden through large sliding stacker doors.
Chan Architecture’s modern yet inviting design features joinery crafted from Cellupal—a remarkably authentic timber-look laminate by George Fethers & Co. This cost-effective material offers the warmth and texture of real timber veneer, thanks to a 3D woodgrain surface that mimics lightly brushed timber with stunning accuracy.
The chosen Cellupal décor, Eik, is a warm, sandy oak effect laminate that complements the home’s lightly textured stone and concrete elements, adding depth and a natural feel to the space. Subtle blue accent joinery, including a cleverly concealed study nook, infuses the home with touches of colour, creating a harmonious blend of modern sophistication and timeless warmth.
