To reduce C0² emissions, an innovative solar façade was installed during the redevelopment of Melchiorstraße, a 1970s residential building in Bern, Switzerland.

The building now generates its own energy, thanks to SKALA thin-film BiPV solar façade panels. 

255 panels were installed across 267m² of the building’s west and south sides for maximum sun exposure.

To modernise the appearance, SKALA bronze panels were chosen, creating a handsome building with vastly improved ecological credentials.
