To reduce C02 emissions, an innovative solar façade was installed during the redevelopment of Melchiorstraße, a 1970s residential building in Bern, Switzerland.

The building now generates its own energy, thanks to SKALA thin-film BiPV solar façade panels.

255 panels were installed across 267m2 of the building’s west and south sides for maximum sun exposure.

To modernise the appearance, SKALA bronze panels were chosen, creating a handsome building with vastly improved ecological credentials.
