Reducing carbon emissions with a retrofitted solar-active façade

Looking to reduce atmospheric carbon emissions, the municipal utility company in the German city of Bad Hersfeld recently underwent an office renovation.

To improve the building’s energy efficiency, 81 SKALA BiPV solar active modules were installed across 85m² of the south-east façade.   

Deep black-grey Anthracite SKALA panels were chosen, providing subtle depth and texture to the building’s monochrome exterior.
